PhD Thesis
This is a thesis study as a partial requirement for Abigail Lash-Ballew’s PhD in the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Rupaleem Bhuyan. This study explores how social work practicum students in child welfare agencies make meaning out of their experiences in relation to institutional racism, particularly in their work with pregnant people and parents of young children. If you’re currently in a child welfare agency placement or have completed a child welfare practicum in the past year, I would be honoured to hear about your experiences! This study has been approved by the University of Toronto Research Ethics Boards (RIS Human Protocol #00049781).
